Now Hiring Part-Time School Bus Drivers - CDL Holders - Glen Ellyn and Carol Stream

As a First Student School Bus Driver, you play a vital role in your community and in the lives of the students you transport. You'll start their mornings with a safe, reliable ride to school and bring them home at the end of the day.

We're looking for CDL holders who care about safety, reliability, and making a positive impact every day. Don't have a CDL? No problem! We offer training to help you towards your Commercial Learners Permit, and paid training towards your CDL after permit is obtained.

Your day as a School Bus Driver includes:

• A split shift: morning pickup and afternoon drop-off with free hours mid-day
• A guaranteed minimum of 5 hours per school day
• No nights or weekends required (unless you choose extra trips or charters)
• Holidays and time off aligned with the school calendar (9 PAID!)

School Bus Driver Benefits Include:

• Starting pay from $25.00 to $30.00 per hour (after training)*
• Sign-on bonus of $3,000 to $5,000 for Experienced Drivers*
• Sign-on bonus of $2,500 for new drivers*
• $15.00 per hour paid training for any additional endorsements needed after CLP
• Completion bonus of $250 available if CLP is obtained within 14 days of offer.
• Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits plus 401(k) retirement plan (Availability may vary by location or collective bargaining agreement.)
• Referral bonuses up to $2,000 help you to earn even more!

You'll be a great fit if you:

• Already hold a valid CDL Class B (or higher) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
• Have a clean driving record
• Are at least 21 years old
• Enjoy working with students and making a difference

This position is subject to DOT drug testing as a safety-sensitive role. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.

*Conditions apply. Bonus offer ends 1/31/2026. Experienced Driver sign-on bonus requires CDL B with S, P and SBP Class B endorsements to qualify.
