Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Operator Oil Refinery for our Tacoma, WA team who cleans and/or changes-out pump strainers and inline filters, load, unload and sample rail cars, sampling tanks and production lines, replacing PPE drums, pumps up re-use drums, empties all containment bins and to replace dirty oil absorbent pads.

Responsibilities:

• Ensures Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times.
• Samples process streams and assists with tank farm operations.
• Loading, unloading and sampling of rail cars.
• Gauges all process tanks every hour.
• Completes tank transfers to control inventory.
• Obtains routine process samples to verify product quality.
• Switches and changes process filters.
• Assists other operators.
• Completes housekeeping tasks within the refinery.

What does it take to work at Safety-Kleen?

• 1+ year experience loading and unloading rail cars and tankers preferred.
• 1- 2 years in a production environment preferred.
• Forklift experience is an asset.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work well within a team.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, work at heights, stand for long periods.
• Must be able to work a rotating shift two on and off days and nights.
