Job Title: Legal Assistant
Location: Liberty, MO
Salary Range: $56,000 - 60,000K
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Legal Assistant with a minimum of three years of general legal support experience. This role primarily supports attorneys in the transactional practice area but will also provide assistance to an additional associate whose work is more general in scope. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment. A target start date of January 2nd is preferred, but securing the right fit for the team is the top priority.
Responsibilities:
• Provide administrative and legal support to a partner and an associate focused on transactional law
• Support a second associate with general legal practice needs
• Prepare, edit, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and filings
• Maintain attorney calendars, schedule meetings, and manage deadlines
• Organize, maintain, and update case files and transactional documents
• Assist with preparing closing binders, corporate records, and related materials
• Conduct basic legal research and gather necessary case or transaction information
• Coordinate communication between attorneys, clients, and external parties
• Manage incoming and outgoing mail, including confidential materials
• Handle general administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and document management
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar legal support role
• Experience supporting transactional, corporate, or general practice attorneys is preferred
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and common legal software
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage deadlines effectively
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
