About the Role:

The Executive Director of Medical Affairs, based at Neurocrine headquarters in San Diego, will report to the VP of Medical Affairs & HEOR. This role involves leading the planning and execution of medical strategies for Ingrezza and the broader psychiatry portfolio, aligning with business goals and market needs. Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, defining vision and strategy for priority assets, supporting clinical development and commercialization, partnering with HEOR, and overseeing Psychiatry Field Medical teams. The role also focuses on advancing medical research initiatives, building relationships with KOLs, closing educational gaps, and leveraging market insights to evolve strategies in compliance with regulations.

Your Contributions:

  • Gather and synthesize insights from external stakeholders to inform Medical Affairs strategies.
  • Align cross-functional teams on medical strategies, brand planning, and clinical data generation.
  • Develop and execute medical strategies for Ingrezza and the psychiatry portfolio, including oversight of field medical teams.
  • Collaborate on real-world evidence, clinical data, and health economic research.
  • Guide Field Medical teams and support strategic disease education and engagement.
  • Build relationships with KOLs and research organizations to advance scientific knowledge.
  • Create training initiatives to ensure high scientific acumen within the team.
  • Partner with HEOR for research creation and execution.
  • Review protocol grant submissions for IITs.
  • Support Medical Communications in publications and dissemination plans.
  • Develop and deliver medical programs and activities to support evidence-based decision-making.
  • Provide regular updates on key initiatives and team performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations, guidelines, and ethical standards.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support Medical Affairs success.

Requirements:

  • MD degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, preferably in Psychiatry clinical practice.
  • Effective communicator and collaborator, both internally and externally.
  • Passion for education and addressing unmet needs in psychiatry.
  • Expertise in Psychiatry with prior leadership in pharma.
  • Recognized as a subject matter expert and thought leader in psychiatry.
  • Broad expertise in strategic and innovative problem-solving.
  • Influence internal and industry issues effectively.
  • Strong leadership skills, mentoring, and team management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to set long-term vision and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Proactive, innovative, and skilled in decision-making.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and matrix environments.

The annual base salary range is $305,900 - $442,900, with individual pay based on location, experience, and responsibilities. The role offers an annual bonus target of 35%, participation in long-term incentives, and benefits including retirement plans, paid leave, and comprehensive health coverage.
