Overview:

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Director of Logistics to join our team. As a Director of Logistics, you will play a crucial role in optimizing our Logistics operations and ensuring efficient and effective delivery of products to our customers. This is a full-time position with opportunities for growth and development.

Duties:

  • Overseeing and managing all aspects of Logistics across all of our partners and warehouses
  • Develop and implement logistics strategies that align with overall business objectives for efficient distribution and inventory management.
  • Oversee and optimize inbound and outbound logistics processes, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
  • Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effective services and optimal performance.
  • Constantly analyzing and vetting new freight brokers to help reduce overall costs.
  • Collaborate with supply chain, production, and sales teams to ensure timely product availability and distribution
  • Maintaining clear and executable databases of all shipments going to our customers.
  • Addressing all damages, claims and chargebacks in a timely manner.
  • Creating and reviewing procedures for all pre-established shipping programs.
  • Oversee all imports and exports with minimal supervision.
  • Analyze all freight spend on a monthly/quarterly basis.
  • Negotiate all contracts based on historical data and overall volume.
  • Review all Shipping and Routing guides for compliance and assist with creating new procedures for any non-compliant areas.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing logistics team, providing training, establishing procedures and mentoring to enhance skills and capabilities.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions when necessary to meet or exceed performance targets.

Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in logistics management, preferably within the CPG industry.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain principles, transportation, and warehousing operations.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement logistics strategies that drive operational excellence.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
  • Proficient in logistics software and tools (e.g., WMS, TMS, ERP systems).
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
