Job Description for position of : Chief Executive Officer

THE PORTFOLIO COMPANY

This portfolio company is a leader in the interior building products industry, specializing in innovative, precise custom fabrication for residential and commercial projects. Operating across seven locations, four core businesses focused on interior building products (such as walls, doors, mirrors, and specialty finishes) are being retained for strategic growth and future sale. The company generates $75M in revenue and $13M in EBIT, with the retained business projected to be approximately $40M post-divestiture. Originally acquired in 2017, the company is now positioned for an exit in 2027, with a focus on organic growth and value enhancement.

THE PRIVATE EQUITY FIRM

The private equity sponsor, headquartered in Texas, invests in sectors including services, healthcare, distribution, manufacturing, and tech-enabled businesses. The firm follows a buy-and-build strategy, targeting companies with $2M-$10M in EBITDA. With over 100 years of combined investment experience and a track record of numerous IPOs, the firm is known for its strategic support and operational autonomy for portfolio executives. Interaction is limited to brief weekly KPI calls and quarterly board meetings, emphasizing trust in leadership and collaboration.

The executive team includes a strong COO who manages daily operations, allowing the CEO to concentrate on strategic growth, integration, and preparing the company for exit. The role demands a financially sophisticated leader comfortable navigating complex business scenarios, engaging with investment banks, and optimizing enterprise value.

THE ROLE

The CEO will be responsible for :

• Leading the strategic business split and integration.
• Representing the business to investment banks and potential acquirers.
• Driving organic growth initiatives.
• Supporting the executive team, including a first-time CFO, through strategic and financial leadership.

KEY SELLING POINTS OF THE ROLE

• Lead a business through a complex strategic split and exit process.
• Engage with a supportive PE sponsor with strong sector experience.
• Build a compelling growth narrative in preparation for a financial buyer exit.

KEY CHALLENGES FOR THE ROLE

• Navigating a complex business divestiture and integration.
• Driving continuous growth during the transition.
• Executing a high-value exit in a competitive market.

YOUR BACKGROUND

Successful candidates will demonstrate :

• Proven experience leading businesses through exits, including working with investment banks.
• Track record of driving organic growth within interior building products or related sectors.
• Experience managing businesses of at least $85M revenue.
• Deep financial acumen and strategic leadership capabilities.

LOCATION

COMPENSATION PACKAGE

Basic Salary : $300,000-$350,000

Bonus : 20%
