We arelooking for a UX Researcher III who will be responsible forjoining a cross-disciplinary team of product managers, designers, user researchers, writers, and software engineers to help users become more aware of and proactive about improving their health. This role will include working on innovative SaMD/health applications, from concept to launch, by using a variety of research methodologies, such as in-depth interviews, usability testing, observation, and contextual inquiry to provide high-quality research with impactful recommendations. We use an iterative research and design approach in the lab and thus the ideal candidate will feel comfortable with running multiple studies with a healthy dose of ambiguity. Our team’s iterative approach is fast-paced and we are responsible for using the data collected and insights found to help answer the team’s questions, reduce ambiguity, and drive the design and product direction towards successful product release. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to run a study from end-to-end: to align on study goals with various stakeholders, execute remote and/or in-person studies, and analyze data to write and present a report that is easy for diverse stakeholders to consume with relevant, actionable, and succinct recommendations. As part of the Health Solutions Lab, you will use your creative vision and research expertiseto support development of applications for cutting-edge smartphone andwearable Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) solutions, like the HealthMonitor ECG app, currently available in 57 countries. In addition, we supportremote-care programs like HeartWise and other health monitoring and trackingproducts that reach millions. Roleand Responsibilities: Meeting with key stakeholders (PM, Head of UserExperience and Human Factors, Regulatory Affairs, Head of Engineering) tounderstand key milestones for product development. Working with recruiting vendors torecruit participants for a study (includes writing a screener, securing budgetapproval, and communicating with the recruiting vendor leading up to thestudy). Writing study plans that useappropriate methods to answer the key research questions and include keyinformation for upcoming study. Independently moderatinguser-research studies. Quickly synthesizing researchfindings into insights that stakeholders (e.g., product, design, writing) canunderstand and act on. Preparing report presentations andcommunicating research findings to a broad team of stakeholders. Working with product, writing,design, and development teams to guide the development of products/prototypesto support further testing and prompt key decisions to be made. C ollaborating with other teammembers to build applications for cutting-edge smartphone andwearable SaMD solutions, including collaborations. Helping provide documentation forSaMDs, which includes human factors validation plan, use related risksanalysis, and tracking all recommendations made during the formative studies. Using research insights to helpestablish a roadmap for health strategy, with a forward-thinking vision of howour health products and services can best fit into user’s lives. Leading, mentoring, and guidingother researchers on the team by providing constructive feedback and reviews onresearch reports and during collaboration sessions. Work with your Manager on researchpriorities. Required Experience and Education: 5-7 years (7+ years preferred) of UXResearch/Human Factors experience. Bachelor's degree required. Educational background inresearch-related domains, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors,Anthropology or comparable industry research experience or equivalentcombination of education, training, and experience. Experience leading several researchstudies from end to end and throughout the development life cycle. Experience using a variety ofresearch methodologies (e.g., usability testing, observation, in-depthinterviews, surveys, etc.) Experience working closely withdesign and product functions.
