Job Description

Salary: $126,100 - 227,950 per year Requirements:

  • We require candidates to possess a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in the fields of Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline. You should have between 12-20 years of relevant technical experience and must demonstrate a proven history of implementing high-quality software development principles in a structured team environment with peer reviews. Strong competency in programming in C, C++, Rust, Java, or Python is essential, along with a working understanding of inter-process communication, multithreaded programming, and memory management.
  • Additionally, experience is required in developing software adhering to interoperability standards for UAS (such as NATO STANAG 4586, Open Mission Systems (OMS), U.S. Army Interoperability Profile (IOP), Link16, or MAVLink), as well as using messaging technologies for distributed software (for example, ZeroMQ, Data Distribution Service, ActiveMQ, Artemis, Kafka, RocketMQ, RabbitMQ, EMQX, or Azure SB). You should also be familiar with design principles promoting software modularity, have full life cycle software development skills including configuration management, DevOps, software testing, and quality engineering concepts, as well as experience in writing unit and integration tests.
  • Additionally, strong analytical skills and a personal commitment to quality workmanship are needed, along with the ability to accept and provide constructive professional feedback. Excellent teamwork and communication skills are a must, and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required. Lastly, candidates must hold an ACTIVE DoD Secret security clearance.
Responsibilities:
  • In this role, I will involve you in the conceptual design across the entire software stack for airborne systems, encompassing embedded software architectural design and code implementation. You will adhere to coding standards, conduct team peer reviews, perform unit testing, and ensure the cohesive integration of loosely coupled software modules both within subsystems and across distributed networks. You will also utilize secure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines while developing software tools and infrastructures to support a fully integrated solution that is testable.
  • Furthermore, you will support system configuration and live operations, which will involve real-time data monitoring, post-mission analysis, and troubleshooting. Regular communication with our customers, end users, internal stakeholders, and fellow team members will be essential. Additionally, there may be occasional software planning and estimation responsibilities, such as Agile product backlog estimation, release planning, and epic/story decomposition.
