FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Prepare patients for office visits including but not limited to: obtaining vitals, medical and medication history.
• Diagnostic Scheduling - kidney ultrasounds, etc...
• Ability to obtain prior authorizations for scheduled procedures and medications
• Chart preparation including obtaining medical records for patients prior to an office visit.
• Ability to triage patient phone calls and following up to completion.
• Maintain patient confidentiality – HIPAA regulations
• Basic computer skills are required

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Professional, courteous, pleasant, and confidential manner
• Great attendance
• Extraordinary patient service and telephone etiquette
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Collaborative and team-oriented

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• Must have a current, valid Michigan driver’s license.
• Must have valid automobile insurance and reliable transportation or alternative provisions. REQUIRED FOR LOCAL TRAVEL
• Medical Assistant Certificate

Schedule :

• Full Time
• 8-hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday

Supporting Offices:

Livonia, Dearborn, Detroit, Warren, Novi, and Walled Lake

Travel required to support local external offices. Expectation of 75% - 100% travel to satellite offices for duties. Adhere to HNA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), to include, but not limited to HNA Patient Privacy Practices, OSHA Practices, HNA Compliance Program.

Since establishment in 1984, HNA has been providing specialized medical management of acute and chronic kidney disease, hypertension, dialysis, and post renal transplantation to patients throughout the Detroit metropolitan area.

While most services are offered in dialysis units and hospitals, HNA provides office consultation and follow-up services to patients with less critical conditions requiring a nephrology specialist. These services are provided out of our various offices in the surrounding area, including Livonia, downtown Detroit, Dearborn, Novi, Warren, and Walled Lake.
