Job Description

Technical Product Manager

Hybrid in San Francisco, California - 3 days a week in office (Tuesday - Thursday)

$170,000 - $195,000 base

A finance company headquartered in California is looking to hire a Technical Product Manager to lead the API platform powering a new predictive engine that simulates credit behavior, designed to help users understand how financial behavior impacts credit scores. This is a hybrid position with in-office collaboration required Tuesday through Thursday.

This is a highly technical role focused on building robust, scalable APIs that enable external integrations with financial institutions, fintechs, and data partners. You'll work cross-functionally with engineering, data science, and product leaders to bring simulation functionality to life through clean, well-documented, and secure APIs.

Role Requirements

  • 4+ years in product management, including 2+ years owning APIs as a product
  • Experience leading API roadmap, lifecycle management, and partner integrations
  • Proven ability to work closely with backend engineering and data science teams
  • Skilled at translating complex workflows or models into scalable, RESTful APIs
  • Comfortable managing developer experience and technical product strategy

Key Skills

  • API design (REST, JSON, OAuth, rate limiting, error handling, etc.)
  • Familiarity with API tools like Swagger/OpenAPI, Postman, or Apigee
  • Experience with credit data, scoring models, or simulation engines is a plus
  • Knowledge of cloud-based tech stacks (e.g., AWS, Python)
  • Strong communication, agile execution, and technical writing skills
