Job Overview KPMG is seeking a Manager to join our State and Local Tax (SALT) practice. This role involves working on compliance and consulting projects for multi-state alternative investment clients, providing industry expertise, reviewing tax calculations, and managing client relationships while mentoring staff. Responsibilities Participate in compliance and consulting projects for multi-state alternative investment clients (hedge fund, fund of funds, private equity, real estate). Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to provide industry knowledge and experience. Review tax calculations and information on state income tax returns. Build and maintain client relationships, supervise, mentor, and develop staff. Qualifications Minimum five years of recent experience preparing and/or reviewing state income tax returns for pass-through and corporate entities, with technical expertise in multi-state tax issues. Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; CPA, EA, JD/LLM, or MTX license required or in process within one year of employment. Experience with pass-through entities and relevant state tax concepts. Strong relationship-building skills internally and with clients. Ability to perform in a high-energy team environment. Excellent writing, communication, project management, and tax research skills.
