Position Summary The Senior Manager of Campus Sales is a multi-faceted role with several key responsibilities. The primary focus will be managing the East Region, which includes evaluating the current sales team, hiring, training, and developing new field representatives, and building strong relationships with key customers and independent organizations (such as C20, ICBA, NEBC). Additionally, this role involves providing market intelligence to the home office.
Furthermore, the Senior Manager will collaborate with internal support departments, including Brand and Art, to develop and execute sales and marketing programs. A crucial aspect of this position is driving growth and achieving sales targets.
The ideal candidate must be highly motivated, independent, creative, analytical, and possess above-average interpersonal skills.
Essential Duties - Manage the Champion, Under Armour, GEAR, and Comfort Wash brands internal/external sales support for College Stores.
- Work with Campus Brand, Art, and Sales Management in the development and execution of growth strategies for the independent market
- Develop / Evaluate / Manage customer incentive agreements
- Create sales goals for the field sales reps and monitor their annual performance against these goals
- Provide and execute marketing/promotional strategies for the independent market.
- Assist in the development of appropriate sales performance evaluation tools and subsequent analysis of sales performance.
- Support and develop a strong working relationship with the Campus Sales Representatives and customer base.
- Evaluate territory reps, hire new reps, train new reps, develop new reps, and replace underperforming reps
- Assist/Participate in the planning and execution of sales meetings and trade shows.
- Provide territory POS to upper management regularly to help determine the performance of our products in the market
- Recognize and understand the potential of direct sales responsibilities in the short/long long-term strategy.
- Manage/Drive Campus “hot” markets business opportunities.
- Manage sales and communication with additional bookstore buying organizations: ICBA, Connect to One, SBX & NEBC.
- Sales liaison between internal departments (art, customer service, brand, credit, accounting, etc.)
Minimum Qualifications - Four-year degree
- Five – Seven years of successful sales and sales management experience in the apparel industry. Collegiate market experience is highly recommended.
- Quantifiable accomplishments in the development of attainable and aggressive sales goals
- Knowledge in translating marketing plans into effective sales strategies in the apparel industry
