Salary: $89,700 - 162,150 per year Requirements:

• We require candidates to possess:
• Extensive expertise with VMware vCenter, including installation, configuration, securing, management, troubleshooting, backup/restore, and upgrading on versions 6.0 and above.
• Significant experience in ESXi host management, including installation, configuration, securing, troubleshooting, and upgrades.
• Profound knowledge of vSAN, including server-side configuration, management, and troubleshooting of virtual storage.
• Strong experience with NSX virtual networking, including installation of virtual switches, configuring VLANs/subnets, and using NSX command line.
• In-depth experience with datastore management utilizing ISCSI and NFS.
• Familiarity with configuring and scheduling automated backups.
• Expertise in creating and managing snapshot policies.
• Exposure to Hyper Converged Infrastructure (HCI) solutions such as Dell VXRail.
• Experience with performance monitoring, tuning, and optimization of VMware environments.
• Background in troubleshooting VM/VDI errors.
• Proficiency in creating and troubleshooting automation scripts using PowerShell and PowerCLI.
• Ability to effectively manage time, triage incidents, and respond to issues impacting critical customers and services.
• Experience implementing system patches and upgrades with minimal customer downtime.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven track record of working effectively within teams and supporting peers towards improved processes and outcomes.
• Experience with IT Service Management solutions such as Service Now or Remedy.

Responsibilities:

• In this role, I will be responsible for the following:
• Administration of the VMware virtual environment using vSphere across multiple data centers and networks.
• Installation and configuration of VMware vCenter Server and related management servers.
• Installation and configuration of VMware ESXi hosts.
• Troubleshooting existing environments and new deployments in VMware servers.
• Active monitoring of the environment and responding to alerts and errors.
• Documentation, review, and updates of system administration guides and procedures.
• Configuration and troubleshooting of VMware virtual switches and NSX switches.
• Configuration and troubleshooting of vSAN, ISCSI, and NFS datastores.
• Assisting other system administrators in troubleshooting virtual machines (Microsoft, RedHat, Ubuntu, etc.) and virtual desktops.
• Mentorship of junior team members.
• Supporting operations across multiple geographic locations and networks.
• Developing solutions to complex technical issues and documenting updates, procedures, and knowledge articles.
• Providing follow-up reports (technical findings, feedback, resolution steps) for Root Cause Analysis, engineering assessments, and process improvement initiatives.
• Interacting with customers and senior managers to handle service requests, inquiries, and problems.
• Supporting customer requirements in a 24/7/365 mission environment, including after-hours emergency support, planning and scheduling downtime, and routine maintenance scheduling.
• Mentoring and training IT Operations Center (ITOC) personnel for 24/7/365 operations.
• Developing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and monitoring documentation for ITOC personnel.

For certifications, candidates must meet DoDM 8140.03 IT System Admin Intermediate requirements, including credentials like Cloud+, GICSP, SSCP, Security+ CE, GSEC, or higher. Advanced certifications for systems administrators include FITSP-O, GFACT, CASP+, CCNP Security, or CCSP.
