Security Administrator – Check Point Firewall Specialist

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio (Onsite)

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Security Administrator to design, implement, and manage enterprise-grade security solutions that safeguard our organization’s operations. This role focuses heavily on Check Point firewall administration , while also engaging in broader network security initiatives, Azure security controls, and compliance activities.

What You’ll Do

• Act as the first escalation point for all security technical and process issues.
• Manage and maintain Check Point firewalls – create and update rules, policies, and objects.
• Design, configure, and deploy security architectures (hardware & software).
• Troubleshoot and resolve security incidents; perform root cause analysis.
• Monitor security layers, logs, and alerts to ensure operational integrity.
• Support remote access and site-to-site VPNs setup and management.
• Oversee vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and compliance checks.
• Facilitate secure business-to-business connectivity for mission-critical systems.
• Collaborate with teams to improve processes and security awareness.

What We’re Looking For

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.
• Experience: 2–5 years hands-on with firewall delivery, upgrades, design, deployment, and support.
• Expertise: Strong background in Check Point firewall administration (CCSA certification preferred).
• Knowledge of Cisco network/security, Azure NSGs & ASGs, SD-WAN, and KnowBe4 Security Awareness.
• Proven skills in networking protocols, VPNs, and network security principles.
• Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
• Highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize in high-pressure environments.

Tech Stack & Tools

• Primary: Check Point firewalls (CCSA preferred)
• Secondary: Cisco networking/security, Azure NSG/ASG, SD-WAN
• Security Awareness: KnowBe4 platform
