Job Title: Release Manager

Location: Bay Area, CA or Hillsboro, OR or Rocklin, CA

About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Release Manager to lead and oversee the planning, scheduling, and coordination of software releases across multiple product pods. This role requires a blend of technical acumen, strong stakeholder management, and deep understanding of agile processes. The ideal candidate will ensure releases are delivered with high quality, on time, and with clear communication to all impacted teams.

Key Responsibilities:
Own the end-to-end release process, including scheduling, coordination, communication, and execution of releases across multiple pods.
Partner with product owners, engineering leads, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders to plan, track, and deliver releases in alignment with roadmap priorities.
Facilitate release readiness reviews, Go/No-Go meetings, and post-release retrospectives.
Establish and maintain release calendars and dashboards to provide transparency across the organization.
Proactively identify and mitigate risks, conflicts, and dependencies related to release activities.
Ensure compliance with agile best practices, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
Champion process improvements for release management to enhance efficiency, predictability, and quality.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
5+ years of experience in release management, program management, or related roles in agile software environments.
Strong understanding of agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban) and release management best practices.
Experience coordinating across multiple pods or cross-functional teams in distributed environments.
Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps, or equivalent).
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and drive alignment.
Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with a focus on outcomes and delivery.

Preferred Skills
Experience in large-scale enterprise software environments.
Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern software delivery practices.
SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) or Agile certification is a plus.
