Dega Systems is a leading provider of VoIP and I.T. Services based in the New York Metro area. Established in 2001, we support small businesses and non-profits by providing their technology systems, strategy, and ongoing support.

Job Summary:  

We’re looking for a Project Engineer who can take ownership of technical projects from kickoff to completion. You’ll work closely with clients, internal teams, and vendors to deliver successful IT initiatives — whether that’s onboarding new clients, deploying modern cloud environments, or upgrading network infrastructure.

Job Responsibilities:  

  • Project Implementation 
  • Ability to follow Statement of Work and Project Design 
  • Ability to follow and create checklists and procedures. 
  • Report on hours (actual vs budget) 
  • Identify Out of Scope and Change Order issues 
  • Report on metrics 
  • Be accountable for meeting goals 
  • Regular time entry and service ticket updates 
  • Individual metrics will be measured by ticket sta tuses, escalation processes and % of closed rate daily
  • Architectural Design & Review 
  • Create project design with milestones and timelines 
  • Statement of Work 
  • Work with Project Leadership to create SOWs and necessary work documents 
  • Review finished SOWs 
  • Documentation 
  • Report on metrics 
  • Be accountable for meeting goals. 
  • Regular time entry and service ticket updates. 
  • Individual metrics will be measured by project hours scheduled v actual, and % of billable time. 
  • Desired skills include customer service skills, confident and positive attitude, and updated

knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems. Working networking knowledge (DNS, switches, firewalls, VPN, etc.) is desired. Troubleshooting skills are required.

  • Participate in regularly scheduled huddles, prepared to report on your individual metrics.
  • Inform management of recurring problems or clients at risk. 
  • Maintain education and knowledge to align with project needs. 
  • Ability to work in a team environment . 
  • Scheduled After-hours work will be planned . Emergency after- hours work may occur. 
  • Can-do attitud e, positivity , empathy towards our clients and ingenuity are key attributes to this position. 
  • Be inquisitive and take initiative - Own an issue, follow it through from start to finish. Find an answer by using all available internal and external resources. Focus on the larger picture 
  • Ability to train and mentor junior technical associates. 
  • Time management skills that allow you to effectively manage multiple projects at one time. 
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills and the ability to communicate with both clients and your team. 
  • Patience, foresight and confidence are character traits that are beneficial for this position. 

Qualifications:

3–5 years of IT experience in an MSP or consulting environment

Strong knowledge of:

  • Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure AD
  • Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams)
  • Networking fundamentals (firewalls, VLANs, VPNs, DNS/DHCP)
  • PowerShell or scripting (a plus!)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

A proactive mindset and a knack for documentation
