Project Architect (Independent Contractor)
About the Opportunity:
Hyperion Architects is seeking a highly skilled Project Architect to collaborate on various projects as an independent contractor. We are looking for a fully competent architect with a professional degree and 3–5 years of related experience. This role is ideal for a self-driven professional capable of working independently on assignments for projects of moderate size and complexity, providing expertise across all phases of project development on a task-by-task or project-by-project basis.
Key Scope of Services:
As an independent contractor, you will provide specialized architectural services, which may include:
Executing architectural assignments requiring independent judgment in design, planning, and documentation.
Developing design layouts, analyses, and occupancy studies for specific project phases.
Preparing project specifications by compiling and analyzing relevant data, as assigned per project.
Drafting technical reports, design narratives, and specifications for project deliverables.
Reviewing and verifying the accuracy of completed reports, plans, estimates, and calculations.
Coordinating with consultants, clients, and Hyperion Architects' internal team members to achieve project-specific goals.
Contributing insights to the refinement of office design standards and processes through completed work.
Qualifications:
Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch).
3–5 years of relevant, professional architectural experience.
Proven competence in all conventional aspects of architecture, including design development, detailing, and construction documentation.
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Enscape.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage project tasks independently while ensuring effective collaboration within a project team environment.
Extensive experience with project specifications and technical writing.
Preferred Qualifications:
Architectural licensure or active pursuit of licensure.
Experience with consultant coordination and client interaction on complex projects.
Familiarity with current building codes, construction practices, and sustainability standards.
