Principal/Department Head - Electrical (BMS)

Electrical Department Manager or Principal Electrical Engineer (either title)

Location San Jose, CA (Hybrid, 3x a week on-site)

Pay: 160k-190k base 

Position Overview
The Electrical Department Manager will oversee the electrical engineering team and ensure the successful completion of projects related to power distribution, lighting, and building management systems. This role involves leadership, project management, and collaboration with other departments to meet client needs and adhere to industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the electrical engineering team to ensure project success
  • Design and implement electrical systems for various projects including power, lighting, and low voltage systems
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of Building Management Systems (BMS)
  • Utilize AutoCAD and Revit for electrical design and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with LEED standards and sustainable design practices
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineers to meet project specifications
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide mentorship to team members

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical engineering and management
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit software
  • Strong knowledge of Building Management Systems and LEED certification
  • Experience with power, lighting, and low voltage systems
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
