POSITION SUMMARY:

Do you enjoy building or fixing things and working in a hands-on environment? We are searching for Precision Assemblers who assemble parts to specifications and drawings utilizing proper tools and equipment to meet time and quality standards. This isn't your standard assembly line job — you'll move between stations and work on a variety of tasks that keep things interesting.

SHIFTS:

  • Full-time hours four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts
  • 1st shift - weekday days, start time options between 6am-8am
  • 2nd - weekday nights, earliest start time 4pm

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensures parts used in assembly are correct, functional, and of high quality.
  • May need to remove small quantities of metal with hand files and scrapers to produce required fit between parts.
  • Visually inspects assembled parts for defects and informs supervisor if defects are found.
  • Looks for assembly or process improvements that result in increased quality and/or productivity.
  • Assists in development and maintenance of assembly methods, including assembly drawings, bill of materials and written procedures.
  • Makes proper use of equipment and tools for assembly and inspection.
  • Demonstrates cooperation and teamwork with co-workers, management, and outside contacts.
  • Seeks out additional duties as needed.
Requirements:

ITAR REQUIREMENTS:

This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person citizenship status.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze and problem solve assembly issues.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school graduate with preferably five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with microscopy, metrology, hand power tools, and measuring tools is a plus

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where all areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes, and other mandatory safety equipment.
  • For the most part, ambient temperatures with typical plant lighting and manufacturing equipment are present throughout the facility.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms (including above shoulder height and below the waist); climb/balance; stoop, kneel, crouch/bend, or crawl; talk or hear; and lift to 50 pounds.
  • Ability and comfortability to work in small confine spaces while following proper safety protocol.
  • Ability to accomplish the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
