Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as a senior Project Manager in our Physical Security Systems group, which manages technologies related to access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection systems that operate in an IP-based networked environment.

The Security Technology Project Manager will utilize specialized knowledge in the area of project management to oversee and manage projects related to the deployment, integration, and upgrading of physical security systems.

The Project Manager will interact extensively with clients, gathering information about their technical security needs and assisting with the implementation of the best security technology solutions.

This position is in-person at our NYC office. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

The Project Manager will be expected to have technical involvement in client projects and be able to read and understand computer assisted design (CAD), drafts of plans and proposals for security systems, as well as supervise vendors and subcontractors and others working on client projects.

The Project Manager will have important oversight responsibilities for multiple client projects and may be embedded at sites for a period of time. Must be able to travel 20 to 25% of the time on an as needed basis.

Candidates musht have at least three years of relevant experience in a professional services or corporate setting or with a security technology integrator and be willing to work independently at client sites with direction.

This is not a cybersecurity position.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, implementation, and management of physical security technology projects from inception to completion.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, budgets, and clearly defined deliverables.
  • Evaluate scopes of work and project proposals.
  • Ensure projects are executed efficiently, staying within scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Identify potential risks and develop proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, external vendors, contractors, and technology providers to identify, track, and remediate open project issues.
  • Provide regular status updates and reporting to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Manage documentation related to physical security systems, including procedures, configuration, and user manuals.
  • Ensure compliance with security industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Assist the Managing Director in handling ad-hoc security technology requests and projects as required.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant course of study.
  • At least three years of relevant experience is needed including experience designing, engineering, installing and/or servicing a variety of security technology products and options.
  • Familiarity with intrusion detection systems and their associated sensors.
  • Familiarity with common security technology such as Genetec, Honeywell, Brivo, Eagle Eye, Axis Cameras.
  • Familiarity with O365 products, BlueBeam Revu, and AutoCAD.
  • Experience serving on complex projects with other trades, facilitating CAD drawings, providing estimates, and drafting proposals.
  • Must have superior problem solving skills and the ability to think outside the box.
  • Must have the ability to communicate clearly in writing and orally, and the ability to communicate across all levels including a comfort level with senior level management and key decision makers.
  • Self-motivated individuals with a strong commitment to provide outstanding services for clients.
  • Honesty and integrity are essential. Must be able to pass a comprehensive background investigation.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Experience in integrating physical security technology with broader organizational IT frameworks.
  • Familiarity with electronic and electro-mechanical locks.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity practices related to physical security technology.
  • Experience managing multi-location or enterprise-level security projects.
  • PMP Certification or equivalent is preferred.
