About the Opportunity
Eaton’s ES GEIS CHD division is hiring a Pattern Maker (Metal) for its Syracuse facility. This is a hands-on, high-skill role on a first shift with competitive pay and relocation support. You’ll work with advanced casting and tooling processes and use both manual and CNC machining systems—including SolidWorks programming—for high-precision pattern production.
What You’ll Do
● Plan and execute complex hand-finishing operations on metal castings
● Fabricate patterns, core boxes, and molds from various materials
● Layout, align, and fasten split sections for plates or cope and drag assemblies
● Perform highly intricate layout and template work from prints
● Setup and operate machine tools—manual and CNC—with customized setups
● Create and modify CNC programs using SolidWorks (Mastercam preferred)
● Apply pattern making knowledge to develop and improve processes
● Conduct bench work: fitting, polishing, scraping, and inspection
● Interpret prints and detect errors, escalating complex issues when needed
● Perform TPM duties like lubrication, cleaning, and tightening components
What You Bring
● High school diploma or GED
● At least 4 years of Journeyman-level Patternmaker experience OR a Journeyman license
● U.S. work authorization (no corporate sponsorship)
● Strong manual machining skills and CNC programming proficiency
● SolidWorks and Mastercam experience (preferred)
