Job Summary The Communications Technician II must be able to perform the technical responsibilities of a Cable Installer and function as a lead member of a technical team. The Fiber Network Technician will coordinate small groups of installers, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. Job Description Job Title: Low Voltage Technician Reports To: Lead Communications Technician Responsibilities include: Installing work area outlets, mounting face plates, and surface mount boxes following standards. Building closets, installing racks, patch panels, fiber optics, and grounding. Testing cables, troubleshooting issues, and identifying active circuits. Leading small teams, completing paperwork accurately, and maintaining safety and quality standards. Qualifications High School diploma or GED. 2+ years of telecommunications experience, with supervisory skills preferred. Proficiency with tools listed, ability to interpret blueprints and project documents. Ability to work at heights, lift up to 50 pounds, and travel as needed. Additional Requirements Must promote company culture and interface professionally with clients. Physical ability to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and distinguish colors. Regular attendance required. Tools Screwdrivers, saws, level, tape measure, pliers, hammer, wrench set, cable stripper, flashlight, gloves, tone set, crimp tools. Education & Experience High School diploma or GED. Minimum 2 years in telecommunications or related field. Proficiency with tools and blueprint interpretation.
