Job Description
Job Summary:
The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse, transportation, and distribution operations to ensure the efficient movement of goods. This role coordinates staff, monitors inventory accuracy, ensures compliance with safety and company policies, and works closely with internal teams and external vendors to meet customer demands and service levels.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise, train, and schedule logistics staff, including warehouse associates, drivers, and support personnel.
Monitor inbound and outbound shipments to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
Oversee inventory management, stock control, and cycle counts to maintain accuracy.
Coordinate with carriers, suppliers, and internal departments to resolve shipping or receiving issues.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
Track key logistics metrics (on-time delivery, order accuracy, inventory turnover, etc.) and prepare reports for management.
Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Support warehouse equipment maintenance and oversee proper use of machinery and tools.
Handle performance evaluations, coaching, and discipline of team members.
Assist in budget planning, vendor management, and cost control initiatives.
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in logistics, warehouse, or transportation management.
Previous supervisory or leadership experience required.
Strong knowledge of supply chain processes, shipping procedures, and inventory systems.
Proficiency in logistics/warehouse management systems (WMS, TMS, ERP).
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Strong understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to50 lbs as needed.
Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, or shifts based on business needs.
