Role Overview

Anuttacon is looking for a versatile and tech-forward Senior Legal Counsel to join our team. We are more interested in your experience in the AI trenches and your ability to navigate the U.S. legal landscape than your specific degree or school ranking.

If you have 4-8 years of experience in tech law, understand the nuances of generative AI, and can seamlessly communicate between our U.S. and Chinese-speaking teams, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

• AI Product Counseling: Work directly with developers to review AI features. Advise on data scraping, model training ethics, and intellectual property issues related to AI-generated content.
• Data Privacy & Compliance: Manage U.S. data privacy workflows (CCPA/CPRA, etc.). Ensure our user data practices are transparent and compliant with evolving state and federal regulations.
• Commercial Contracts: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including SaaS licenses, vendor contracts, and strategic partnership deals.
• Bilingual Communication: Serve as the primary legal bridge. Translate complex U.S. legal risks into clear, actionable advice for Chinese-speaking stakeholders and leadership.
• Regulatory Monitoring: Stay ahead of U.S. AI legislation and FTC guidelines, ensuring Anuttacon remains a leader in compliant innovation.

Qualifications (Flexible)

• Experience: 4–8 years of legal or high-level compliance experience within the technology sector, specifically focusing on AI, data, or software.
• Education: A degree in Law (J.D., LL.M., or equivalent foreign legal degree). While a U.S. bar license is preferred, we value proven expertise and practical track records in the AI industry.
• Mandarin Fluency (Required): Must be able to conduct business, draft emails, and explain legal concepts in both Mandarin and English fluently.
• Tech Savvy: You don't need to code, but you should understand how LLMs work, what an API is, and the legal implications of data sets.

Bonus Points

• Experience in cross-border tech transactions (US-China).
• Prior experience in a high-growth startup environment.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CIPP/US).
