Interior Design Assistant

Sheffield Furniture & Interiors is seeking an Interior Design Assistant who is passionate about working with people and thrives on supporting others and helping the team achieve its goals. This position will handle client-facing duties as well as general office tasks. When our clients walk into our showroom, we want them to find a friendly, smiling face and a helping hand. If you're up to the challenge and love helping others succeed, then this position may be a good fit for you. The ideal candidate has a minimum of two years of administrative experience, excellent communication and multi-tasking skills, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic. We pride ourselves on recognizing each individual's potential and investing in their future. This is a full-time position working in our Malvern, PA showroom. We offer excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision and retirement savings. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as receptionist 1 day/week, greeting clients in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Match clients with the most appropriate designer based on their needs.
  • Provide direct support to a specific assigned designer(s) 3 days/week.
  • Accompany designers on client house calls and assist with presentation planning.
  • Gather and organize samples, fabric memos, and rug samples for projects.
  • Perform space planning tasks as needed.
  • Communicate with vendors and follow up on purchase orders.
  • Run errands and assist with other project-related tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain and organize the sample library and online product specifications library.
  • Perform data entry for project and order statuses.
  • Ensure the office and resource areas remain clean, organized, and efficient.
  • Create and manage daily and monthly sales reports.
  • Support general office operations and team coordination as needed.
  • Complete other duties as assigned to support the showroom and design team.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • High school diploma required; some college coursework preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with multi-line phone systems and customer service environments.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
  • Professional, collaborative, and team-oriented work ethic.
  • Experience in interior design, a showroom, or a materials library setting is a plus.
