Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic Interior Design Assistant to support our design firm under the guidance of the company’s Principal Designer. This role is ideal for an entry-level designer or recent graduate eager to gain practical experience in the interior design industry.
About Us
The Company is a boutique design and build business based in Sandy, UT that manages diverse clientele, including homeowners and real estate investors. The Company also strategically purchases, remodels and sells its own properties. The work environment is dynamic, detail-oriented, and collaborative, resembling a close-knit family. English, Portuguese and Spanish are often spoken by our vibrant and multi-cultural team.
Ideal Candidate
We seek candidates that are proficient in using Revit and SketchUp, knowledgeable about building codes (or willing to learn), and comfortable in a fast-paced work setting. The role calls for resilience, a proactive attitude, and a readiness to learn on the go. We prefer a candidate that lives within 15-20 minutes of our office location in Sandy, UT.
Responsibilities
- Develop “as-is” and “proposed” plans using Revit.
- Source and select materials, furniture, plus other design elements.
- Prepare visual and technical presentations, including lookbooks and mood boards.
- Manage sample requests and vendor interactions.
- Communicate with contractors, clients, and team members.
- Research and track pricing, availability, and delivery schedules.
- Support design presentations and procurement processes.
- Assist in marketing initiatives like social media and website updates.
- Attend trade shows and work beyond standard hours when needed.
- Demonstrate a proactive, self-motivated approach.
Requirements
- Degree or certificate in (or working towards) Interior Design or related field.
- Understanding of design principles and industry terminology.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Creativity and independent working ability.
- Familiarity with design tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Revit, and SketchUp.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong proficiency in Revit.
- Good working knowledge of SketchUp.
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle access for transport to work and job sites.
