Hospital Security Officers provide assistance and effective problem resolution for patients, staff, and visitors throughout the multiple departments of Northwest, in both patient and non-patient areasPRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES* Provide a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff* Conduct preventive security and safety patrols throughout buildings and campus grounds* Respond to and investigate security incidents* Create clear and timely documentation of incident reports, investigatory interviews, and actions* Assume control of emergency situations in cooperation with medical professionals, fire/police agencies, and/or senior* administration* Serve as a member of the Fire Control Team and respond to alarms and other emergent situations* Provide escorts to patients, visitors, or staff 24 hours a dayMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS* High School graduation or equivalent* possession of a valid driver's license* No previous felony convictions* AND two years of full-time college in police science or allied field;* OR two years of police or campus security experience.* OR equivalent experience and education will be considered except in cases where it is required including but not limited to as licensure or certifications**Compensation, Benefits and Position Details****Pay Range Minimum:**$26.58 hourly**Pay Range Maximum:**$38.60 hourly**Other Compensation:**-**Benefits:**For information about benefits for this position, visit Work Shift (United States of America)This is a regular position**FTE (Full-Time Equivalent):**100.00%**Union/Bargaining Unit:**SEIU 1199NW UWMC Northwest Service and Maintenance**About the UW**Working at the University of Washington provides a unique opportunity to change lives on our campuses, in our state and around the world.UW employees bring their boundless energy, creative problem-solving skills and dedication to building stronger minds and a healthier world.
