FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Work Hours: Full-time | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Draftsman to support the design engineering team by producing precise CAD drawings and 3D models for a range of custom and standard products. This role plays a key part in translating conceptual designs into manufacturing-ready technical documentation and supports custom components such as branded nameplates, grills, and other unique fabrication elements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create detailed 2D CAD drawings based on engineering specifications, customer requirements, and internal standards.
  • Support the development of custom-designed elements such as branded grills and nameplates, integrating both aesthetic and technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineers and designers to ensure drawings meet functional, structural, and aesthetic requirements.
  • Revise and update drawings based on feedback or design changes.
  • Organize and maintain drawing files, part libraries, and revision histories using internal systems.
  • Assist in generating technical documentation such as bill of materials (BOMs), assembly instructions, and cut sheets.
  • Interface with production and fabrication teams to ensure manufacturability and accuracy of designs.
  • Occasionally assist with basic prototyping tasks and review physical samples for accuracy and functionality.
  • Create installation-ready construction drawings for flooring contractors
  • Maintain a high level of precision and adherence to design standards and tolerances.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field.
  • 2+ years of CAD drafting experience, preferably in construction, product design, or manufacturing utilizing ASTM Y14.5M-2018 guidance.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks (drawings, models, assemblies).
  • SolidWorks certifications (CSWA/CSWP/CSWE) a plus.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and customer specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Familiarity with sheet metal, plastics, or signage design a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple drawing requests in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability and willingness to gain proficiency in Revit/AutoCAD
