Shift: - Monday: 12:00 PM - 7:00 PM
- Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Experience Level: Entry-level
Salary Range: $18 per hour, $20/hr after 90 days.

Key Responsibilities: - Patient Care & Support: - Prepare treatment rooms for patients by setting up instruments, materials, and supplies.
- Escort patients to treatment rooms, seat them, and prepare them for examination and treatment.
- Obtain and update patient medical history and vital signs.
- Provide pre- and post-operative instructions to patients as directed by the dentist.
- Ensure patient comfort throughout dental procedures.
- Answer patient questions and address concerns regarding procedures or oral hygiene.
- Chairside Assisting: - Anticipate the dentist's needs and efficiently hand instruments and materials during procedures (e.g., fillings, crowns, extractions, root canals).
- Perform suctioning and retraction as needed to maintain a clear operating field.
- Mix dental materials such as cements, composites, and impression materials.
- Take and pour dental impressions.
- Prepare and apply dental sealants, fluoride treatments, and temporary crowns.
- Assist with restorative, surgical, and preventative procedures.
- Radiography: - Take X-rays: Capture clear and accurate dental X-rays as directed by the dentist, strictly adhering to safety protocols.
- Ensure clear and diagnostically acceptable images.
- Maintain x-ray equipment.
- Sterilization & Infection Control: - Sterilize Instruments: Meticulously clean, sterilize, and organize all dental tools and equipment following strict infection control guidelines.
- Prepare and Turn Over Rooms: Thoroughly clean, disinfect, and set up treatment rooms between patients, ensuring they are ready for the next appointment.
- Administrative & Clerical Support (as needed):
- Process lab cases, send out and receive appliances.
- Order and manage dental supplies inventory.
Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of an accredited Dental Assisting program preferred.
- Current and valid Dental Radiologic Technologist (DRT) license in New Jersey is required.
- Positive attitude and good energy.
- An even-keel temperament, especially during busy periods.
- Ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Proficient in dental software (e.g., Dentrix, EagleSoft, Open Dental) preferred.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, and procedures.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality (HIPAA compliant).
- Ability to sit, stand, and bend for extended periods.
