Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) - Medical Surgical to join a leading healthcare facility in
Wasilla, Alaska. This role focuses on
staff development, clinical excellence, and patient-centered care within the
Medical-Surgical unit. The ideal candidate will bring
expert knowledge, leadership, and mentorship to nursing teams, ensuring

Candidate requirements
Job specification - Utilize the Synergy Model to support, supervise, and evaluate newly hired clinical staff during their first 90 to 180 days on the unit.
- Act within the nurse-patient, nurse-nurse, and nurse-system spheres to improve patient care and team performance.
- Facilitate a multi-disciplinary and collaborative approach in delivering comprehensive healthcare in the Medical-Surgical specialty.
- Promote excellence in nursing care by implementing clinical standards of practice and establishing competency benchmarks for nursing staff.
- Mentor and coach nursing teams, providing ongoing education and professional development.
- Evaluate patient care practices and implement evidence-based strategies to enhance clinical outcomes.
- Support policy development, quality improvement initiatives, and workflow enhancements in collaboration with leadership teams.
Candidate requirements Required: - Master's Degree from a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).
- Active Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) License upon hire.
- National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
- Current certification in a Medical-Surgical specialty (e.g., CCRN, CEN ) upon hire.
- Minimum of 3 years of registered nursing experience in Medical-Surgical care.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical leadership experience.
Preferred: - Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) certification in area of specialty upon hire.
