Responsibilities & Qualifications Position Overview The Novelis Bay Minette, AL team is looking for a Chemical Engineer to join our Continuous Coating Line team. The successful candidate will support process optimization, quality control, and safety initiatives in the production of aluminum products. Responsibilities Embrace the Novelis Safety Absolutes to build a zero-injury culture and the Novelis cultural beliefs of Be Authentic, Say Anything, Be Open and Built Trust Assist in monitoring and optimizing chemical processes in the different stages of aluminum coil coating Collect and analyze process data to identify trends, solve issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives Collaborate with quality team to ensure products meet customer specifications and regulatory standards. Contribute to maintaining a safe work environment by following safety protocols and participating in safety audits. Provide support for projects related to process improvement, cost reduction, and new product development. Maintain accurate records of process parameters, testing results and operational procedures. Coordinate with coil coating suppliers during development and claim activities Develop and maintain Work Instructions and SOPs in collaboration with the process engineer Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering or related field 3-5 years experience in an industrial/heavy manufacturing environment Knowledge of chemical processes, data analysis, and process optimization. This highly advanced rolling and recycling facility will be the first of its kind. It will primarily serve our customers in the beverage can and automotive markets.
