Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Cabinet Shop Manager to oversee the daily operations of our custom cabinet manufacturing shop. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, extensive woodworking and cabinetry knowledge, and the ability to manage both people and production flow efficiently. This role ensures quality craftsmanship, safe working conditions, and timely project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise and coordinate the shop floor team, including cabinetmakers, assemblers, and finishers
• Plan and schedule production to meet customer deadlines and quality standards
• Interpret and communicate technical drawings and specifications to the team
• Ensure all projects are completed to specifications and quality expectations
• Manage inventory of raw materials, hardware, and finished goods
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Train and mentor shop employees, encouraging skill development and cross-training
• Collaborate with sales, design, and installation teams to ensure project success
• Monitor workflow, troubleshoot production issues, and implement process improvements
• Ensure adherence to OSHA safety standards and company policies
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in cabinet manufacturing or woodworking shop management (5+ years preferred)
• Strong knowledge of cabinet construction techniques, joinery, finishes, and materials
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Excellent leadership and team management skills
• Solid understanding of production planning, scheduling, and quality control
• Familiarity with woodworking machinery and power tools
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Basic computer skills (e.g., email, spreadsheets, production software)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with custom cabinetry or high-end millwork
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM or cabinet design software (e.g., Cabinet Vision, SketchUp)
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
