Middletown Township is seeking a qualified and motivated Building Inspector to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the safety and integrity of our growing community by ensuring construction projects meet established codes and standards.

The Building Inspector will be responsible for performing comprehensive inspections of residential buildings and structures to ensure compliance with the PA UCC and all applicable municipal and state codes. This is a field-based position involving plan review, code interpretation, and direct interaction with contractors, property owners, and other authorized agents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct on-site inspections of residential construction, renovations, and additions to ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and approved plans.
• Review building plans, specifications, and other construction documents for compliance with applicable codes and ordinances.
• Provide clear and professional communication with contractors, architects, and property owners regarding code requirements as well as inspection findings.
• Ensure adherence to the PA UCC, Middletown Township ordinances, and applicable safety standards.
• Stay updated on relevant building codes, ordinances, and industry standards.

Qualifications:

• Must possess certifications as a PA UCC Residential Building Inspector . Certifications must include building, plumbing, energy, and mechanical for residential construction projects.
• Current International Code Council (ICC) certifications required.
• High school diploma or equivalate (technical degree in construction or related field preferred).
• At least 2 years of experience in residential construction, code enforcement, or building inspections.
• Experience in municipal government preferred.
