TheLatest.com is working in cooperation with our nonprofit, OUR NATIONAL CONVERSATION (OurNationalConversation.org).
“THE LATEST” is a great brand name because it’s so versatile:
We have a very specific idea for what we want to do with this URL. There is an AI angle to our concept. We seek a handful of AI programming/data/computer science interns to jump on board and bring this idea to life.
Let’s not become totally fixated on this “one big idea”; we think our idea is good, but we want to build a platform that’s very flexible, so as the AI world evolves, TheLatest.com can evolve with it.
We like working with students because young people understand tech better than old people. Young people – or some of them, anyway – are willing to take a risk, because they don't have to worry about paying the mortgage.
If you are looking for an assignment where we say to you, “Here, take this plan, follow it and bring it to life,” that will get us started.
But that’s NOT really what this assignment is all about.
What we really want is a team of HIGHLY CREATIVE technologists who can tell US what we should do next. Many programmers are brilliant but lack creativity; we seek brilliant programmers who are ALSO creative.
We don’t want to say too much more about our idea at point. But we look forward to an action-packed interview in which we will go deep on all this. When we are ready to share our idea, you will be required to sign an NDA.
There is no pay at this time; you are doing this for the learning experience. But if TheLatest.com takes off, we intend to be fair with everyone who helps make this happen. We have content teams, marketing teams and administrative teams working on this, also.
