FLSA Status : Non-Exempt

Reports To : Aftercare Coordinator

Work Hours/Days : Part Time, 3:30-5:30 M-F

Typical Calendar Days Per Year: 185

Compensation: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Position Summary :

Are you looking for a future career in education? Do you love working with students? Ascent Classical Academy of Grand Junction (ACAGJ) is a public charter school in the Grand Valley serving students in Kindergarten through 10th grade (with plans to expand through 12th grade in future years).

ACAGJ is hiring Aftercare Tutors for the grammar school aftercare program for the 2025-2026 school year. Our aftercare tutors model good character, support students in completing their homework, provide a safe space to play, and encourage healthy friendships. We are seeking candidates with a high standard of excellence, professional demeanor, warm rapport with students, clear communication with parents and other staff members, and a can-do attitude to join our team. The ideal candidate will be organized, diligent, and devoted to helping students grow in wisdom and virtue.

Position Requirements:

Required Skills/Abilities :

  • Interpersonal skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds
  • Must be able to traverse classroom and building
  • Must be able to supervise outdoor recess periods for up to 40 minutes outdoor

Ascent Classical Academy Charter Schools, Inc. (ACACS) is a network of public charter schools in Colorado comprised of four campuses. The governing Board of Directors at ACACS has contracted with Minga Education Group (MEG) to provide employment services for all staff at ACACS. Through this partnership, MEG provides employment services, a personnel system for human resources, benefits, payroll services, and access to a 401(k) plan.
